Our 50th Reunion!
The WGHS Yearbook - 50 Years Later
When you were in high school, did you REALLY believe your English teacher understood how unique, sensitive and insightful you actually were? In the years since graduation, have you ever pictured yourself a published author or photographer, so that…at last…the world would know, once and for all, that you WERE capable of so much more than anyone saw or knew in 1958? Maybe you ARE an author or photographer. Well, either way, we have an offer we hope you won't refuse.
We want to know about YOU - your life, since high school - what you have done, where you have been…or anything else you may want to tell us. To commemorate the 50th anniversary of our graduation from WGHS, we are going to publish a new and updated yearbook, ECHO 1958 in 2008.
But, this requires YOUR stories, YOUR memories, YOUR pictures and YOUR comments. Enclosed you'll find a sample of one of our local high school's recent 'yearbook' for their 50th. We hope you'll agree, the final product is informal and conversational, yet totally interesting to read and ponder.
But there won't be anything - no new yearbook, no long-lost memories, no laughing at our youthful selves without YOU. YOU are the magic.
Here's the plan:
Review the sample pages from the reunion book. Think about the photos, the stories, and the information you would like to include about you and your family - it's totally up to you to include what you would like to share with your classmates.
We will provide a copy of your 1958 ECHO Senior photo, but we also need a current photo of you, a headshot, please.
We would also to include two or three others of your favorite photos - you with your family, you skydiving (clothing preferred), whatever. So, start looking now for those photos you can share with us.
We'll give you a whole page, a half page, but at the very least, will publish (with your permission, of course) your name, senior picture, current address, current email, phone number and any other pertinent information you'd like your classmates to have. Think of the end of March 2008 as a deadline, but why not get it done right now?
After you've written your 'story' and selected your photos, decide which format (snail mail or email) you'll use to submit the information. Email text and photos (in jpg format, please) to Glenda Bentz at bentg@sbcglobal.net or snail mail to Susan Bishop at 1124 Sanford Avenue, St. Louis, MO 63139.
